Originally, Sara is from Bristol, England.

Sara met Siobhan Fahey while they were in college.

Keren Woodward is her childhood friend.

She has been close friends with ex-member of the S*x Pistols, Paul Cook whom she met at a club in 1980. After that, Sara and Keren began singing backing vocals for his new band The Professionals.

In 1981, Sara, Keren, and Siobhan formed their band Bananarama. However, Fahey decided to leave the group in 1988 after which she was replaced by Jacquie O’Sullivan who continued with the group until 1991.

She released her first single titled Aie a Mwana in 1981. From there, she went on to release a string of hit tracks some of which included Shy Boy (1982), Robert De Niro‘s Waiting (1984), Love in the First Degree (1987), Cruel Summer (1984), Venus (1986), I Heard a Rumour (1987), and I Want You Back (1988).

With Bananarama, Dallin won the “Icon Award” at the Glamour Awards in June 2017.
